Recommendations for traffic safety

Driving style and seating comfort will affect safety, so do the following:

• be sure to fasten your seat belt, even if you drive a car in the city;
• make sure all passengers, even those in the rear seats, are wearing their seat belts. Passengers not wearing seat belts endanger themselves, the driver and other passengers in the event of an accident;
• for transportation of children under the age of 12, use special child seats in which the child is securely fixed relative to the seat, and the seat relative to the car (see «Use of child seats»);
• adjust the driver's seat so that you can easily reach any control;
• adjust the position of the steering wheel so that all instruments in the instrument cluster are visible, and the hands on the steering wheel are in the most comfortable position;
• make sure that all pedals move freely;
• do not drive while intoxicated. The use of alcohol, drugs and certain medications adversely affects the senses, the speed of a person's reaction, his driving abilities, increases the risk of creating an emergency and injury;
• do not drive if you feel tired. Stop often to rest (at least every 2 hours);
• drive at a speed appropriate to traffic, weather and road conditions. Remember: the handling of the car, its braking qualities are largely dependent on the grip of the tires with the road surface. Road sections with freshly laid asphalt are very dangerous. On a wet road, a hydroplaning effect may occur, in which case a complete loss of controllability is possible;
• obey the speed limit signs.
