Removal
1. Open and support the hood.
2. Mark the position of the latch on the hood so that you can install it in its original place later. Remove the latch mounting bolts and the Torx screw securing the release lever, and remove the latch and lever along with the connecting rod (see Figure 8.2).

Installation
3. The latch is installed in reverse order. But please note the following points:
- a) When installing the latch, align it with the previously made marks;
- b) Slowly tighten the release lever screw to the required torque. After tightening, check that the lever moves freely and does not stick;
- c) Be careful not to overtighten the fasteners of the latch and the release lever, as this may cause the latch to jam in the extreme positions.
