Checking the tie rod ends and seals (Mondeo 3)

            0

On the right and left between the transverse steering rod and the steering trapezoid lever of the steering support there are tips.

The steel ball head is covered with self-lubricating plastic - a cuff filled with special grease protects it from dirt and moisture. Tie rod ends with a defective cuff or gap must be replaced immediately.

ORDER OF EXECUTION
  1. Check the tie rod end seals for external damage (e.g. cracks).
  2. Check if the joint has a gap. The best way to do this is to park the car over an inspection pit.
  3. Ask an assistant to briefly turn the steering wheel several times to the right and left. You can use your hand to feel if there is any play in the steering knuckle.
