Checking the tie rod ends and cuffs

            0

Tips are located on the right and left between the transverse steering rod and the steering trapezoid lever of the rotary support.

The steel ball head is encased in self-lubricating plastic - a cuff filled with a special lubricant protects it from the penetration of dirt and moisture. Tie rod ends with a defective collar or clearance must be replaced immediately.

PROCEDURE
  1. Check the tie rod ends for external damage (e.g. cracks).
  2. Check if the hinge has clearance. To do this, it is best to put the car over a viewing hole.
  3. Ask the assistant to briefly turn the steering wheel several times to the right and left. You can feel with your hand whether there is a transverse steering clearance in the hinge.
