With a certain amount of craftsmanship, you can always replace the fan motor.



ORDER OF EXECUTION
  1. Release the five lower trim clips in the right footwell and…
  2. …remove the glove compartment rotary damper. To do this, open cover 1 and move the upper part of damper 2 out of the glove compartment to gain access to the rotary damper.

  3. Now remove the glove box. To do this, press the side walls of the box 1 towards the middle and remove it from the hinges 2.
  4. Once the box is hanging, you can see the fan motor - pull out the connector plug and..
  5. …unscrew the engine (screws are indicated by arrows).


    Removing the glove compartment: First press on the side walls 1 in the directions indicated by the arrows and then hang down the hinges 2.


    Removing the fan motor: Unscrew the three screws (indicated by arrows).
  6. Carry out the installation in reverse order.




Precise dosing – heating/ventilation control unit adjustment motors


Instead of Bowden cables, the Mondeo's heating/ventilation control unit uses "sensitive" electric adjusting motors to perform the switching process. Since in everyday life, as practice has shown, you don't often encounter problems with such electric "helpful spirits", we won't dwell on them in detail here. However, for those who are still interested in adjusting motors, because the air flaps here don't work the way you imagine, we offer here a drawing of the heating system with all the control elements and additional units.

Effective and invisible - air conditioning system (AC)


Since the heating system is quite cheap, it "looks" good with the serial AC: it works unnoticed in the background and does not require special care and maintenance for years. If your Mondeo has exceptions to this rule, it is better to call a specialist in air conditioning systems. To perform the corresponding repair work here, you must have, of course, special tools, which, of course, may not be found in the technical fund of an amateur.
