Troubleshooting a Fan (Mondeo 3)

ORDER OF EXECUTION

If the fan does not work in any switching position, immediately check the corresponding fuse in the fuse box.
If the fuse is OK, check the fan switch. To do this, remove the control unit as described above.
Check if there is voltage applied to the terminals of the multi-pin connector. If there is none, check the wiring coming from the fuse box.
At the next stage, check the switch in all positions for "passability". To do this, connect a multimeter.
It is better to replace a defective switch. As experience shows, repair does not increase its service life.
If the switch is OK, then check the ground connection at the fan motor.
If no defect is detected here, then the fan motor is faulty (carbon brushes are burnt out, armature winding is melted).
