Dismantling the heating and ventilation control unit (Mondeo 3)

Since in practice the presence of systems with manual regulation of the temperature in the cabin prevails, a description of dismantling the control unit for such systems is given below.



ORDER OF EXECUTION
  1. Disconnect the battery and remove the radio or audio system.
  2. Remove the middle screws from the protective cover and…
  3. …carefully pull the shifter boot (arrow) out of the center console.


    Remove the switch cover (arrows) from the center console.
  4. Next, unscrew the lower screws (indicated by arrows) from the protective trim and pull the decorative cover out of the console just enough so that the cable connector is not under too much tension.


    Remove the lower screws (arrows) from the protective cover.
  5. Before pulling the switch out of the decorative cover, first insert a piece of cloth between the screwdriver and the cover. Then press the switch and disconnect the multi-pin connector.


    Insert a piece of cloth between the screwdriver and the cover and only then press the switch.
  6. Now unscrew the top screws (indicated by arrows) from the protective lining and…


    Remove the top screws (arrows) from the protective cover.
  7. …disconnect the plug (indicated by the arrow) from the heater/air conditioner control unit.


    Disconnect the plug (arrows) from the control unit.
  8. Next, unscrew the four screws (indicated by arrows) and remove the control unit from the niche.


    Unscrew the screws (arrows) and remove the control unit from the niche.
  9. Carry out the installation in reverse order.
