Precautions when handling the generator (Mondeo 2)

            0

When carrying out any work with discharge current installations, be sure to observe the following safety precautions:

- Never disconnect the battery or voltage regulator while the engine is running;

- never touch the ground and the generator excitation winding terminals or the wires attached to them at the same time;

- do not mix up both voltage regulator wires;

- never operate the voltage regulator if it is connected to ground (this will damage the diodes);

- always observe the polarity of the battery connection;

- never use a test lamp that is directly connected to a household electrical network (110 or 220 V), for any checks use only a 12 V test lamp;

- if the charger is charging a battery installed in a vehicle, disconnect both wires from the battery, connect the positive terminal of the charger to the positive terminal of the battery, and the negative terminal to the negative terminal of the battery;

- incorrect connection of wires will lead to destruction of the rectifier and voltage regulator.
