Removal
1. General note
- Before starting repairs, remove the rear side panel and the lamp mounting panel with reinforcement.
2. Remove the lock panel reinforcement
3. Inner rear side panel
- Cut (open spot welds).
4. Inner rear side panel with reinforcement
- 1. Place of cutting
- 2. Rout spot welds (to a depth equal to twice the panel thickness).
- 3. Remove the remaining flange on the top reinforcement.
Installation
1. Inner rear side panel with reinforcement
- 1. Perform welding using MIG technology.
- 2. Drill the existing holes to 5 mm (to a depth equal to the panel thickness) - then perform puddling welding.
- 3. Puddling welding (to a depth equal to twice the panel thickness).
2. Strengthening the lock panel
- Alternatively, the lock panel reinforcement can be welded to the rear side panel.
3. Install the seat belt retractor console.
