Replacing gearbox seals (Mondeo 4)

You will need: a flat-blade screwdriver, a hammer, and a mandrel.

1. To replace the axle shaft seal, drain the oil (liquid) from the gearbox (see Changing the oil in a manual transmission or the working fluid in an automatic transmission).

4. Lubricate the working edge of the oil seal with transmission grease and press it in using a mandrel of a suitable diameter with the working edge inside the gearbox.
