Withdrawal

1. Remove MGR chains (paragraph 10). This procedure includes the removal of the pallet (paragraph 14).

2. Remove the flange bolts and support nut and remove the intake pipe and filter. Remove the O-ring from the pump.

3. Although it is not necessary at this stage, remove the screws and remove the slinger from the crankcase.

4. Gradually turn out bolts of fastening of the pallet in sequence, return to that shown in fig. 15.11. Remove pump from cylinder block (see fig. 15.4, a, b).

Inspection

5. Remove the screws and remove the cover from the pump (see fig.15.5).

6. Note the position of the marks on the inner and outer rotors and remove them. The mark on the outer rotor faces the cover, and the mark on the inner rotor faces the pump housing (see Fig.15.6, a-c).

7. Unscrew the plug and remove the safety valve, spring and plunger (see fig.15.7).

8. If any of the rotors or the pump housing are scored or damaged, the entire pump assembly must be replaced. If the components are serviceable, install the valve parts first and tighten the plug. Lubricate the rotors with clean engine oil and insert them into the housing according to the marks (see fig.15.8).

9. Install the pump cover and tighten the screws to the required torque (see fig.15.9).

10. Before installing the pump, fill it with clean engine oil through the hole in the intake pipe flange. At the same time, rotate the rotors so that the oil fills the insides of the pump.

Installation

11. Position the pump so that the inner rotor is aligned with the flat of the crankshaft, and dock it with the cylinder block. Insert bolts and sequentially (see fig.15.11) tighten them to the required torque.

12. Install the oil deflector, if it was removed, on the crankcase and tighten the bolts.

13. Install the suction pipe and filter, along with a new O-ring, into the pump. Then insert the flange bolts and tighten them to the required torque. Install and tighten the support nut.

14. Install MGR chains and set sprockets (paragraph 10).
