Replacing the rear light (Focus 2)

For replacing the rear light of hatchback and station wagon vehicles perform the following operations.

You will need a Phillips-head screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Open the trunk.

4. …and the lower screws for mounting the rear light.

5. Move the light away from the body, overcoming the force of the clamps.

NOTE: Use a screwdriver to pry, remove and replace the clips if the light comes off too easily.

6. Squeeze the clips and disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the bulb sockets and remove the tail light.

NOTE: On station wagons, disconnect the common wiring harness connector from the tail light and remove the tail light.




7. Install the taillight in the reverse order of removal.

For replacing the rear light of cars with a sedan bodyperform the following operations.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Open the trunk.

3. Turn the two latches of the tail light cover and remove the cover.

4. Squeeze the retainer and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the light.

5. Unscrew the three mounting nuts and remove the rear light.

6. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
