Polishing makes small scratches invisible (Focus Turnier 1)

Clean the damaged area with cleaning gasoline or thinner.

Remove foreign paint (if any) from the topcoat in several stages using polishing cotton, abrasive polish or varnish remover. Keep the polishing surface as small as possible.

First, carefully wet sand the "torn" edges of the scratches with a small strip of sandpaper (minimum 800 grit). Constantly wet the sandpaper and rinse the sanding area with water. Be careful not to rub through the topcoat.

Polish the damaged area with a soft polish. This will distribute paint particles from the immediate surroundings of the varnish into the scratch.

Finally, treat this area with a preservative.

If you are concerned about a uniform shine, then polish the entire car.
