Removing and installing the trunk lid lock (Mondeo 1)

Please note: The pictures show the Fastback model.

Removal

Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Remove the rear trunk trim by pulling off the seal "1", removing the two clamps and unscrewing the two screws "2". On the Turnier model, unscrew four screws.



Unlatch and remove the door contact sensor.



Remove the screws and pull out the lock.



Disconnect the two cables from the lock.

Disconnect the central locking drive rod. To do this, remove the stopper and pull out the rod.

Remove the lock.

Installation

Install the lock, insert the central locking drive rod and secure it with the stopper.

Connect two cables.

Install the lock and tighten it to a torque of 10 Nm.

Install and secure the door contact sensor.

Install the rear trunk trim, secure with screws and two clamps.

Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery terminal.

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio anti-theft code.
