Removing and installing the trunk lid lock core (Mondeo 1)

Removal

Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Remove the rear trunk trim by pulling off the seal "1", removing the two clamps and unscrewing the two screws "2". On the Turnier model, unscrew four screws.

Remove the reversing light cover.

Unlatch and remove the door contact sensor.

Pull the drive on the bracket up and disconnect the cable nipple from the lever.



Pull the spring lock up.

Disconnect the cable holder from the lock core and remove the core.

Installation

Install the lock core, install the cable holder and lock the core with the spring stopper.

Attach the cable.

Install and secure the door contact sensor.

Install the rear trunk trim, secure with screws and two clamps.

Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery terminal.

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio anti-theft code.
