Central lock — design description (Mondeo 1)

            0

The central locking system can be operated from the driver and passenger seated next to the driver. The system consists of five actuators for the four doors and the boot lid (rear cargo compartment lid) and a central locking module located on the right side under the instrument panel, and also includes five lock sensors and five key position sensors.

The central locking system enables simple locking of the doors with double locking. In double locking, additional electric motors disconnect the inner door and boot lid drive levers from the locks. In this case, the locks can no longer be opened from the inside.

Double locking is activated by turning the locks for three seconds first to unlock, then to lock.

Three consecutive buzzer signals indicate that the double lock is on. If after locking one long continuous signal sounds for three seconds, this indicates an error in the double lock system (e.g. short circuit).

Depending on the version, it is possible to install a remote control with an infrared transmission and reception system. The infrared transmitter is located in the ignition key housing.
