Checking the clutch (Mondeo 3)

            0

A worn (slipping) clutch can certainly be recognized when you accelerate your car in maximum gear or drive in mountainous terrain. The engine rotates at high speeds, but the speed does not increase. It is better to inform about the condition of your clutch in a timely manner - naturally, only if you have reasonable suspicions, since the clutch "sweats" thoroughly during such a "dry test". Before you start the engine, set the handbrake.

ORDER OF EXECUTION
  1. Set the handbrake and start the engine. Engage the clutch, select 3rd gear and try to move off as usual.
  2. With a perfect clutch, the engine "chokes" already in the first quarter of the clutch pedal"s return.
  3. If the engine continues to run, the clutch is worn out.
