Starting off

When the engine is idling, apply the brake, move the selector lever to one of the driving positions (D, R, 2, 1) and release the brake - the car will start moving by itself. To increase speed, press the gas pedal.

Warning: An automatic transmission vehicle cannot be started by towing. To start the engine, you should use an external battery.

Stop

To brake, release the accelerator pedal and press the brake pedal. The selector lever does not need to be shifted, but if the vehicle is braked to a complete stop, keep the brake pedal depressed. To accelerate the vehicle again, release the brake and press the accelerator pedal.

Downshifting (kick-down)

Sometimes road conditions require a sharp increase in torque on the wheels of the car - for example, to quickly increase speed when overtaking, to overcome a steep hill, etc. In this case, it is advisable to temporarily switch to a lower gear. Such a function (dubbed kick-down) available in automatic transmission. This function is implemented only when the selector is set to the position «ABOUT». Engine braking

If the selector lever is moved from the position «ABOUT» 8 position «2» while driving, the automatic transmission will shift to second gear and remain in second gear as soon as the speed drops to 91 km/h. If the lever is moved from the position «2» into position «1», the automatic transmission will shift into first gear and remain there as soon as the speed drops to 48 km/h.

Driving in difficult conditions

If the car is stuck in sand, mud or snow, you can try the swing method by quickly changing direction (back and forth) and maintaining engine speed.

To increase the effect, select «R» while moving forward and «D» when moving backward. For starting off on an icy road, in extreme cases, you can use the position «2».
