Keys and locks

This key locks and opens all the car's locks. Usually, each key has its own number, and the set of keys is accompanied by a special tag. If you lose the main key, you should contact the Service Center and give them its number to make a duplicate.

To lock, move the rear door lock lever inwards. The lock can now only be opened from the outside.

Opening the trunk

Opening the trunk

To open the luggage compartment, turn the key to the right until it stops. This will automatically turn on the lighting.

If the ignition is switched off and the doors are not locked, the luggage compartment can be opened by simply pressing the lock cylinder. To facilitate opening/closing, there are special recessed handles on the luggage compartment lid.

Central locking system

Central locking system

The central door locking system can be activated from both front doors, either from the outside with the key or from the inside by pressing the door handle. It only works when the doors are fully closed.

The luggage compartment can be opened directly with the key or by remote control.

The door locking mode eliminates the possibility of unwanted intrusion into the car (for example, when stopped at a traffic light).

Double locking system

Double locking system

Now it is impossible to open the car from the inside.

The system is an additional means of protecting the doors and luggage compartment from unwanted intrusion into the vehicle.

Warning: Do not use the double locking system if there are passengers in the vehicle.

Turning on the system

Turning on the system

Double locking is only possible if all doors are completely closed.

The system can be activated from both front doors by turning the key first to position (1), then within 3 seconds to position (2). If an intermittent sound signal appears, the system is working.

Independently of this, you can also turn on the security alarm system. To do this, turn the key to position (2).

For more detailed information, please refer to the relevant Paragraph.

Functional check

When the double locking system is activated, the corresponding indicator lamp and/or direction indicators will flash for 5 seconds.

System shutdown

System shutdown

The system will automatically turn off once the vehicle is opened with the key.

Warning: If the electrical system in the vehicle is faulty, the front doors can be opened with the key.

Remote control system

Warning: To protect the environment, used lithium batteries should not be disposed of with household waste.

Engine immobilization system

Engine immobilization system

Once the immobilizer system is activated, the engine cannot be started. Therefore, it must first be deactivated using a key with an electronic code.

Keys

Engine immobilization system

There are three electronic code keys for the Ford Mondeo: the main red key and two with a red mark. These should be kept especially carefully, as no other keys will work.

Automatic activation of the engine immobilizer system

The system turns on 5 seconds after the ignition is turned off. When the system is running, the signal lamp lights up every two seconds.

Automatic engine immobilizer system shutdown

If one of the three electronic code keys is used, the system is automatically disabled after the ignition is turned on.

Warning: To avoid incorrect reading of the code from the key, do not coat its head with metal. It is better to keep the main (red) key in a safe place.

Key coding

Key coding

Up to 15 spare master keys can be programmed. To do this, insert the master key into the ignition and turn it to position II. When the indicator lamp lights up, switch off the ignition, remove the key and wait until the indicator lamp lights up again. After it goes out, you have about 10 seconds to program one key: insert it into the ignition and turn it to position II. Once programming is complete, the indicator lamp goes out.

If you need to encode other keys, the operation must be repeated.

If necessary, the Service Center can replace the main key and reprogram already coded duplicates. The system does not require special maintenance.

Warning: If you lose your keys, please report this to the Service Center and change the code for safety.
