Rear Lower Control Arm (Wagon) (Mondeo 1 and 2)

Removal

1. Remove the rear suspension spring (paragraph 21).

2. The bolt that secures the rear lower arm to the suspension beam has an eccentric head and a spacer washer for adjusting the rear wheel alignment. Before unscrewing the bolt, mark its position with a scriber through the opening in the beam.

3. Unscrew the bolt securing the rear lower arm to the beam (see Fig. 22.3). It can be unscrewed through the opening in the beam. Remove the eccentric spacer washer.

4. Remove the lever from under the vehicle.

Installation

5. Installation - in the reverse order of removal. First, tighten the mounting bolts and tighten them fully only after the car is on the ground and the suspension is loaded. Check and adjust the rear wheel alignment at the first opportunity (paragraph 36).
