General information about manual transmission

This section contains diagnostics, testing and general maintenance procedures for the iB5 manual transmission, MTX-75 manual transmission, MT-285 manual transmission and clutch. All three manual transmissions are equipped with cable-shifting systems and a hydraulic clutch.

Gearbox options

The Focus is available with an iB5 manual transmission, an MTX-75 manual transmission, or an MT-285 manual transmission. The following combinations are available:

• The IB5 manual transmission is available in combination with the 1.4L Zetec-SE engine, the 1.6L Zetec-SE engine or the 1.8L Zetec-E engine.
• The MTX-75 manual transmission is available in combination with the 1.8L DI Deisel engine or the 2.0L Zetec-E engine.
• The MT-285 manual transmission is offered in combination with the 2.0L Duratec ST engine.
