Checking the transmission oil level (Focus Turnier 1)

            0

The 4F27E automatic transmission, like the manual transmission, is filled with long-life oil at the factory. However, after operation in extreme conditions, such as when towing a trailer or in the mountains, a small oil consumption may occur. Therefore, after such trips, check the oil level - but no later than after 45,000 km. For this purpose, your Focus has a dipstick for measuring the transmission oil level, which is located between the engine and the gearbox (on the left in the direction of travel).

Stages of work

Warm up the engine, park the car on a horizontal surface and apply the handbrake.

Start the engine at idle speed.

With the engine running, slowly move the selector lever through all the gears.

Move the selector lever to position "P".

Remove the oil dipstick and read the readings. The difference between MIN and MAX is approximately 0.4 l.

Add the missing amount through the dipstick hole. Turn off the engine first. Important: use only original oil.

Take the measurement with the engine running: the difference between MIN and MAX is 0.4 l
