Special care products for interior cleaning (Focus Turnier 1)

For cleaning the interior, it is best to use special car care products. Forget about alkaline soap and household cleaners: glass, cushions and synthetic surfaces are already subject to extreme stress due to solar radiation, dust, dirt and dampness - special substances simply have a more gentle effect on the material. Effective special cleaning products, from experience, are not cheap, although high-quality substances are worth the money.

Interior Cleaning Products

Plastic cleaners: clean synthetic surfaces and refresh paints. Reliable products not only provide a new shine, but also have an antistatic effect, thanks to which surfaces are protected from dirt and dust for a longer time.

Textile cleaners: clean cushions, carpets, door and interior upholstery. They reliably dissolve dust and dirt, and faded cushion colours acquire a new freshness. In addition, good cleaning agents also remove stubborn stains. Glass cleaners (also in the form of foam cleaners): clean all glass surfaces and dissolve stubborn stains. For example, insect residue, nicotine, synthetic fumes and oil deposits (not suitable for varnished surfaces).

Rubber care products: clean and care for door, window and trunk seals, as well as foot mats. High silicone content maintains rubber elasticity for many years - silicone prevents it from freezing to the body and refreshes the color.



Anti-scale spray: preserves glass surfaces in the car for several days or weeks, depending on the weather. When applied to glass, it forms a foamy film after a short time, which can be wiped off with a dry kitchen cloth. Anti-scale cloth or window sponges can only help in an emergency.

Interior cleaning

For a thorough cleaning of the car interior you will need:

• Rags (non-lint) for wet and dry wiping and drying.
• Clothes brush or upholstery brush.
• Vacuum cleaner with a nozzle for pillows and carpets.
• Hand broom and dustpan.
• Fine-pored sponge for plastic parts.
• Chamois for wiping window glass.

Stages of work

Clear the interior of things. At the same time, clean and wash the ashtray immediately.

Fold the floor mats and remove them, then shake, beat or vacuum them.

Wipe rubber mats with a damp cloth and dry them outside the car. Damp mats can cause unpleasant odors and mold stains on textile materials.

Remove coarse dirt from the interior with a vacuum cleaner. For soft textile upholstery, use fixed attachments; for hard synthetic materials, use brush attachments. For smooth rubber surfaces, wiping the surface with a damp cloth is usually sufficient.



Spray the synthetic care product sparingly over the dashboard surface and then spread it with a damp cloth in circular motions. Remove excess product directly from the car windows, steering wheel and instrument panels using plenty of water.



Clean the seat cushions with a brush or vacuum cleaner, wipe off dust on synthetic surfaces. Remove dust from hard-to-reach corners and folds with a brush. ® Clean the seat belts with a dry brush. In case of heavy soiling, wash with mild alkaline soap.

Wipe the synthetic parts and dashboard supports with a damp chamois. Never use gasoline or other solvents - synthetics may stain and corrode the surface. Use cleaning agents for synthetic materials. Spray the surfaces with clean water, rub and then wipe dry with a napkin. For regular cleaning, a mild grease-dissolving cleaning agent dissolved in warm water is usually sufficient.

Always clean the ceiling completely

The ceiling, which in most cases is a shaped piece with a textile covering, should only be cleaned if it is heavily soiled. Spray a large surface of the ceiling with a textile cleaner. Then wipe with a sponge and terry towel.

If necessary, repeat this treatment. Be careful: never clean only the dirty areas, otherwise you may get horrible stains with edges.

Treat the seat cushions and textile inserts in the side parts and the upholstery with a foam upholstery cleaner. Vacuum the cushions thoroughly while they are still damp from the cleaner - this is the best way to remove dirt. For leather seats, use only special leather care products; good products also maintain the elasticity of the leather and the flexibility of the seams.



You should pay attention to rubber door seals not when the doors are frozen. Regular inspection and maintenance with silicone-containing substances significantly extends their service life. Replacing such seals can be expensive.



Spray the door seals with a silicone-based rubber care product and wipe them down.

Wipe the inside of the windows with a damp chamois, then apply glass cleaner. Polish them to a shine with a dry kitchen towel or newspaper. In a smoker's car, shadows and a gray film are still visible after cleaning. In this case, a real miracle is performed by varnish polish. Be careful: do not drip polish on unsealed plastic, as this can result in terrible and persistent stains.



Cushion cleaner removes fine dirt, dust, and fresh stains. Apply the cleaning foam and spread it with a damp sponge. Do not rub too hard, otherwise you will push dirt particles back into the fabric. Follow the instructions for use on the packaging. Tip: You can also use inexpensive carpet cleaning foam.
