Special care products for interior cleaning

To clean the interior, it is best to use special car care products. Forget about alkaline soaps and household cleaners: glasses, cushions and synthetic surfaces are already subjected to extreme stress from solar radiation, dust, dirt and dampness - special substances simply have a more gentle effect on the material. Effective special cleaners, in my experience, are not cheap, although quality products are worth the money.

Interior cleaners

Plastic cleaners: clean synthetic surfaces and freshen paints. Solid products not only provide a new shine, but also have an antistatic effect, thanks to which the surfaces are protected from dirt and dust for a longer time.

Cleaning products for textiles: clean cushions, carpets, door upholstery and interior. They reliably dissolve dust and dirt, the faded colors of the pillows acquire a new freshness. In addition, good cleaning products also remove stubborn stains. Glass cleaners (also in the form of foam cleaners): Cleans all glass surfaces and dissolves stubborn stains. For example, insect residue, nicotine, synthetic fumes and oil deposits (not suitable for varnished surfaces).

Tire care products: Clean and care for door, window and trunk seals and floor mats. The high content of silicone retains the elasticity of rubber for many years - silicone does not allow it to freeze to the body and refreshes the color.

Spray anti-plaque: preserves for several days or weeks, depending on the weather, the glass surfaces in the cabin. When applied to glass, it forms a foam after a short time, which can be wiped off with a dry kitchen towel. Anti-tartar cloth or window sponges can only help in an emergency.

Interior cleaning

For a thorough cleaning of the car interior you need:

• Rags (not fleecy) for wet and dry rubbing and wiping.
• Clothes brush or upholstery brush.
• Vacuum cleaner with a nozzle for pillows and carpets.
• Hand broom and dustpan.
• Finely porous sponge for plastic parts.
• Suede for wiping window panes.

Stages of work

Free the salon from things. At the same time, immediately clean and wash the ashtray.

Fold up the floor mats and take them out, then shake, beat or vacuum.

Wipe the rubber mats with a damp cloth and dry outside the vehicle. Damp rugs can cause odors and mildew stains on textiles.

Remove coarse dirt in the cabin with a vacuum cleaner. For soft textile upholstery, use the fixed nozzles, for hard synthetic materials, use the brush nozzles. With a smooth rubber coating, it is often enough to wipe the surface with a damp cloth.



Spray synthetic care products economically on the surface of the dashboard and then spread in a circular motion with a damp cloth. Remove excess product directly from vehicle windows, steering wheels and instrument windows using plenty of water.


Clean the seat cushions with a brush or vacuum cleaner, wipe off dust on synthetic surfaces. Remove dust from inaccessible corners and folds with a brush. ® Clean the seat belts with a dry brush. For heavy soiling, wash with mild alkaline soap.

Wipe synthetic parts and dashboard supports with damp suede. Never use gasoline or other solvents - synthetics may stain and corrode the surface. Use cleaners for synthetic materials. Rub the surfaces that have been sprayed with clean water and then wipe dry with a napkin. For regular cleaning, a mild grease-dissolving cleaner diluted in warm water is usually sufficient.

Always clean the ceiling completely

The ceiling, which in most cases is a shaped piece with a textile covering, should only be cleaned if heavily soiled. Spray a large area of the ceiling with a textile cleaner. Then wipe with a sponge and a terry towel.

If necessary, repeat this treatment. Be careful: never clean only dirty areas, otherwise you can get terrible stains with edges.

Treat the seat cushions and textile inserts in the side panels and upholstery with foam upholstery cleaner. Vacuum the pillows thoroughly while they are still damp from the cleaning agent - this is the best way to separate the dirt. For leather seats, use only special leather care products, good products also retain the elasticity of the leather and the flexibility of the seams.



You should pay attention to rubber door seals not when the doors are frozen. Regular monitoring and maintenance of silicone-containing substances significantly extends their service life. Replacing these seals can be expensive.


Spray the door seals with silicone rubber cleaner and wipe them clean.

Wipe the inside of the windows with damp chamois leather, then apply glass cleaner. Buff them to a shine with a dry kitchen towel or newspaper. In the smoker's car, after cleaning, shadows and a gray coating are still noticeable. In this case, a real miracle works polish for varnish. Be careful not to drip polish onto uncovered plastic, as this can result in nasty and stubborn stains.



Cushion cleaner removes fine dirt, dust and fresh stains. Apply cleaning foam and spread it with a damp sponge. Don't rub too hard or you'll push dirt particles back into the fabric. Follow the instructions for use on the packaging. Tip: You can also use an inexpensive foam carpet cleaner.
