Replacing the clutch pedal (Scorpio 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the clutch cable from the clutch lever and pedal without removing the cable.

2. Disconnect the wires from the brake light switch.

3. Remove the spring clip and spacer sleeve from the clutch pedal axle.

4. Remove the clutch pedal assembly.

5. Remove the bushings from both sides of the pedal and take out the toothed segment.

6. Remove the spring.

7. Remove one of the retaining clips from the latch axle, remove the axle and the latch with the spring.

8. Clean the mechanism parts and determine the degree of wear.

Installation

1. Lubricate the latch axle and toothed sector with graphite grease and install on the pedal.

2. Insert the toothed sector with the spring into the pedal and secure with two bushings.

3. Lift the latch and rotate the sector so that the latch rests on the smooth surface behind the teeth.

4. Install the spring that rotates the toothed sector.

5. Install the clutch pedal with the spacer sleeve.

6. Connect the clutch cable.
