Removal



Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.


Open and remove the ashtray.

Pull off the shift lever tip.

Pull off the shift lever tip.


Remove the gearshift boot. If equipped, disconnect the multi-plug.

If equipped, remove the automatic damper adjustment switch. To do this, lift the switch with a small screwdriver and disconnect the multi-pin plug. To avoid damaging the console, place a piece of cardboard under the screwdriver.

Remove the four screws "1", having first removed the plugs.



Remove three screws "2".

Remove two screws "3".

Pull the boot off the parking brake lever.

Disconnect the multi-pin cigarette lighter plug.

Remove the center console.

Installation



Install the center console. Connect the multi-pin cigarette lighter plug. Put the boot on the parking brake lever.

Secure the center console, see Fig. P-48209. Insert the plugs.

If equipped, install the automatic damper adjustment switch on the console by first connecting the multi-pin plug.

Install the gear shift boot, first connecting the multi-pin plug, if available.

Install the gear shift lever head.

Install the ashtray.

Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery terminal.

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio anti-theft code.
