Removal and installation of the average console

Withdrawal

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Open and take out the ashtray.

Pull off the tip of the shift lever.



Remove the shift lever cover. If present, disconnect the multi-pin plug.

If equipped, remove the automatic damping adjustment switch. To do this, lift the switch with a small screwdriver and disconnect the multi-pin plug. To avoid damaging the console, place cardboard under the screwdriver.



Turn out four screws -1-, having previously taken out plugs.


Remove the three screws -2-.

Remove two screws -3-.

Pull off a cover from the lever of a drive of a parking brake.

Disconnect the multi-pin cigarette lighter plug.

Remove the middle console.

Installation

Install the center console. Connect the multi-pin cigarette lighter plug. Put on a cover on the lever of a drive of a parking brake.

Attach the center console, see fig. R-48209. Insert plugs.

If available, install the automatic damper adjustment switch on the console after connecting the multi-pin plug.

Install the gearshift boot, having previously connected the multi-pin plug, if any.

Put on a head of the lever of a gear change.

Install the ashtray.

Connect the ground wire to the battery terminal (-).

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio's anti-theft code.
