Removing and installing the roof trim (Mondeo 1)

Removal

Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Unscrew the fastener and remove the inner trim of the A-, B- and C-pillars.

Remove the interior lighting, see item 21.7.

If equipped, unscrew and remove the sunroof handle or remove the sunroof switch.



Remove the roof console. To do this, unscrew the two screws, press the console towards the windshield and release the clamps.

Remove the screws securing the sun visors, after removing the plugs with a small screwdriver. If necessary, disconnect the mirror multi-pin plug.

Remove the screws that secure the handrails, after removing the plugs with a small screwdriver.



Release the six "arrow" holders. The Turnier is shown in the picture, for the Limousin/Fastbuck the roof lining is secured with four holders.



If present, remove the hatch opening trim.

Remove the roof lining.

Caution! On Fastbuck and Turnier models, pull the trim out through the rear cargo area lid opening. On Limousine, pull the roof trim out through the rear door opening.

Installation

Install the roof sheathing and secure with holders.

If present, install a hatch opening surround.

Secure the handrails and insert plugs into the screw holes.

Secure the sun visors, insert the plugs into the screw holes. If necessary, connect the mirror multi-plug.

If equipped, install and secure the sunroof handle or install the power sunroof switch.

Install interior lighting, see item 21.7.

Secure the A, B and C pillar sheathing.

Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery terminal.

Set the time on the clock.

Set the anti-theft radio code.
