Both halves of the hinge are screwed to the engine bonnet and the wheel arch. The new Mondeo has pre-tensioned hinges, which have a certain pre-tension when closed. The advantage: the resulting gaps in the hinges are compensated, and in addition, the bonnet lies "more calmly" in the face of oncoming air flow.

ORDER OF EXECUTION |
- Open the engine hood and prop it up.
- To facilitate installation, mark the position of the hood hinges on both sides.

- Release the windshield washer hoses from their fastenings and carefully pull them out of the corresponding nozzles. First, warm up the hardened areas of the hoses slightly with a lighter.
- Unscrew the hinge screws on the hood and the hood adjuster and then, with the help of an assistant, remove the hood.

- Before installation, assemble the new hood with the "old" parts.
- For installation, with the help of an assistant, lay the hood down and align it according to the markings. Then tighten the hinge bolts.
