This work is approximately the same in all models. Below is the procedure for a model with a sedan body.

ORDER OF EXECUTION |
- Place your Mondeo on a level surface, disconnect the battery and open the boot lid.
- Remove the lid lock and disconnect the connector of the central control door lock system.
- Remove the inner lining of the cover (11 fastening clips) and attach a piece of rope to the free end of the connector.
- Remove the rubber tip from the opening at the top of the side wall and then pull the wire out of the cover.
- Mark the position of the hinges on the trunk lid with a felt-tip pen.
- Have an assistant hold the trunk lid while you unscrew the hinge screws on both sides (indicated by arrows).
Remove the four hinge screws (indicated by arrows) on the trunk lid. |
- Remove the lid and place it so that it cannot tip over.
- Carry out the installation in the reverse order. If the old cover cannot be re-installed, assemble a new element from the "insides" of the unnecessary cover before installation. Lightly secure the cover in advance and then adjust its position according to the existing marking. First, align the new cover by eye.
