Removal and installation
1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
2. Lift the trunk lid and secure it with the stop.
3. Disconnect the trunk lock actuator connector plug, remove the rubber bushing protecting the wires, tie the cord to the connector and pull the actuator out of the trunk lid cavity. Leave the cord in the trunk lid for subsequent tightening of the wires.
4. Mark the position of the trunk lid hinges, unscrew the bolts and remove the trunk lid.
5. The trunk lid is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Removing and installing the gas-filled trunk lid strut
Gas-filled trunk lid struts are installed on each door hinge.
1. Lift the trunk lid and secure it with the stop.
2. Remove the retaining clamps (indicated by arrows) from both sides of the gas-filled strut mounting axis and remove it.
3. The gas-filled strut is installed in the reverse order of removal.
