Replacing the oil filter (Mondeo 2)

Access to the oil filter is from the bottom of the engine compartment, place the front of the car on supports.

The filter is removed with a special key (Fig. 117). If you don't have one, you can pierce the filter from the side with a screwdriver blade and unscrew it with the screwdriver handle. Remember that oil will leak out, so take the necessary precautions.

Before installing a new filter, lubricate the O-ring with oil and grease. Screw the filter until it fits snugly against the O-ring, then tighten it by hand from half a turn to three-quarters of a turn. Do not use any tools for this.

After replacing the oil filter, check the oil level.
