Make sure the battery tray is in good condition and the clamp is securely tightened. Corrosion on the tray, clamp and battery itself can be removed with a solution of water and soda. After that, rinse the treated surfaces thoroughly with water. Cover metal parts damaged by corrosion with a zinc-based primer and paint.

Check the battery charge level periodically (approximately every three months) as described in Chapter 5A.

If the battery is discharged and you need to start the engine from a backup battery.

1. The battery is located in the left front corner of the engine compartment. It should be inspected periodically to check for cracks in the housing and cover.



2. Check that the clamps are securely fastened to the terminals, ensuring reliable electrical contact. A clamp that is tightly tightened cannot be turned on the terminal. Also check the battery cables for damage.



3. If there is corrosion (white, loose deposits) on the terminals or clips, disconnect the wires from the terminals, clean them with a wire brush, and reinstall them. Special terminal cleaning devices can be found in stores with related products...

Battery corrosion can be minimized by lubricating the battery terminals and clamps with petroleum jelly after connecting them.
