Bulbs and fuses

Check all external lights and horn. If any circuit does not work, refer to the relevant paragraph in Chapter 12 for explanation.

Inspect all connectors, wire harnesses and clamps. Make sure the contacts and fasteners are secure, pay attention to the appearance of scuffs and other damage.

1. If any of the size indicators, headlight or brake light does not light up, this most likely means that the bulb has burned out and needs to be replaced. See chapter 12 for details.

If both brake lights are off, it most likely means that the brake light switch above the brake pedal needs adjustment. This operation is described in chapter 9.

2. If both indicator lamps or taillights do not light, this most likely means that the fuse has blown or the corresponding circuit is faulty.

The main fuse box is located under the dash on the passenger side. The auxiliary fuse box is located next to the battery. To access the fuses, unfasten the fasteners and remove the cover.

3. To replace a blown fuse, pull it out. Insert new fuse (which can be purchased at an auto parts store) with the same settings (see chapter 12).

It is important to find the cause that caused it to burn out.

Advice

To test the brake lights, park the car with its back against a wall or garage door and depress the brake pedal. Reflected light will show their serviceability.
