Removing and installing the battery (Mondeo 1 and 2)

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery cables, starting with the negative cable (see Fig. 2.1).



2. Remove the battery mounting clamps (see Fig. 2.2,a,b).



3. Remove the battery (see Fig. 2.3). Be careful - it is heavy.





4. After removing the battery, inspect its tray for corrosion (see Chapter 1).

5. If you are going to replace the battery, you must install the same one in its place - with the same dimensions, capacity (in ampere-hours), the same value of current when starting a cold engine, etc. Dispose of the used battery properly.

Installation

6. Installation - in the reverse order of removal.
