Removing and installing the tailgate support pillars (Mondeo 1 and 2)

Removal

1. Fix the door in the open position.

2. Remove the upper elastic retainer securing the pillar to the door. Then pull the bushing out of the ball joint (see Fig. 21.2).



3. Remove the lower retainer in the same manner and remove the strut from the ball joint. Pull out the strut (see Fig. 21.3).

Installation

4. Installation - in the reverse order of removal. Install the strut so that the tip of its piston is directed downwards and secured to the body.
