Inspection and verification


1. Check the validity of the customer's complaint by turning on the system.

2. Perform a visual check for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

Mechanical factors

– Damage to the audio unit

– Jamming, inability to load the cassette player

– Jamming, inability to refuel the CD player (CD)

– Antenna/adjustment

– Fuse 31 (15 A)

– Fuse 50 (7.5 A)

– Loose or corroded connector (s)

– Audio block

– Speakers


3. If there is an obvious cause for a noted or received complaint, correct the cause of the problem (if possible) before moving on to the next step.

4. If no obvious cause is found, codes may be shown on the audio unit display (only vehicles with 6006E or 9006 audio unit). Check the audio unit display for trouble codes. All vehicles except vehicles with 6006E or 9006 audio units - refer to Self Diagnosis Mode.

Communication error

INSTALL a new audio unit. CHECK the system is working properly.

E2

Overheat error

The audio unit has overheated and will not work until it cools down. Make sure the air duct (s) heater to blow hot air in the direction of the radio. If the problem persists, INSTALL a new audio unit. CHECK the system is working properly.

E3

mechanical error

INSTALL a new audio unit. CHECK the system is working properly.

E4

Focus error

The CD is upside down or dirty. Clean the CD and try to play it again; if the fault code does not disappear from the display, INSERT another CD. If the fault code does not disappear from the display. INSTALL a new audio unit. CHECK the system is working properly.

E5

Overcurrent error

INSTALL a new audio unit. CHECK the system is working properly.




Self-diagnosis mode


1. In order to enter the Self-diagnostic mode of the audio unit, you need to turn on the audio unit (ON position). Within four seconds, simultaneously press preset buttons 3 and 6.

2. Release preset buttons 3 and 6; the audio unit will enter the Self-diagnostic mode.

3. Press the preset button 6 to move between the operations of the Audio Unit Self-Diagnostic Mode.

4. To exit the Self Test Mode, do not press any of the audio unit buttons for 10 seconds.

5. If Self Diagnosis Mode is not available, use WDS to diagnose the audio unit.

4CH RF for 4-channel system, 2CH RF for 2-channel system.

Right front speaker circuit.

Check speaker circuit.

5. Check speaker circuit - left rear speaker.

4CH LR for 4-channel system, 2CH LR for 2-channel system.

Left rear speaker circuit.

Check speaker circuit.

6. Check speaker circuit - right rear speaker.

4CH RR for 4-channel system, 2CH RR for 2-channel system.

Right rear speaker circuit.

Check speaker circuit.

7. Check communication signals with CD changer (in the presence of).

CDDJ is OK if communication signals are received, and CDDJ is NONE if no communication signals are received.

CD link chain.

Check the CD chain.


6. If the complaint persists after going through the Self-Diagnostic Mode, refer to the Symptom Table.
