Inspection and verification
To maximize tire performance, inspect your tires for improper inflation and uneven wear, which may indicate a need for balancing, tire rotation, or front suspension adjustment. Tires should also be checked regularly for cuts, bulges due to embedded rock, abrasions, bulges, and foreign objects embedded in the tire tread. More frequent inspections are recommended in areas where there are sudden temperature changes or extremes, or when road surfaces are poor or foreign objects are present.
For additional visual inspection of the tires' condition, molded tread wear indicators are provided in the tread grooves. When these indicator strips become visible, new tires should be installed.
