Every Focus is factory-fitted with a headlight adjustment system. This allows the beam to be precisely adjusted to the load - oncoming traffic is never blinded. The beam adjustment works on voltage-controlled stepper motors. You change the adjustable resistance with the actuator switch to the left of the steering wheel. It transmits the selected voltage to the servomotors: depending on the setting, the spindle in the headlight housing moves the reflector. In the basic setting, i.e. with two people in the car, the knurled roller should be in position "0", the scale in the Focus is calculated to switch position "2".
Adapted: you adapt the range of the headlights using the regulator depending on the vehicle load.
