Draining and filling the cooling system

Coolant drain

1. Disconnect ground wire from battery.

2. Place a clean container under the vehicle to drain the coolant from the cooling system.

3. Unscrew the drain plug in the cylinder block and disconnect the lower flexible pipe from the radiator.

Filling the cooling system

1. Screw the drain plug in the cylinder block and connect the lower flexible pipe to the radiator.

2. Fill the cooling system through the filler hole of the expansion tank with the recommended amount of coolant.

3. Connect battery.

4. Start the engine and run it at fast idle speed until the thermostat valve opens.

5. Switch off the engine and check the tightness of the cooling system connections.

6. After the engine has cooled down, check and top up the coolant level if necessary.
