Checking, removing and installing the electrical disconnect device

            0

The electrical shut-off device is located on the high pressure fuel pump above the fuel pipe. As soon as the ignition is turned on, this device receives voltage from the preheat relay and opens the fuel channel. In the de-energized state, the piston of the shut-off device, under the influence of the built-in spring, extends and closes the fuel channel. The disconnect device must be checked if the engine does not start.

Examination

Turn on the ignition. The disconnect device clicks.

Otherwise, unscrew the electrical wire -A-. Using an auxiliary wire, connect the positive battery terminal to the disconnect device.

If the solenoid valve is now closing, then check the electrical wires, check the power supply to the preheat relay.

If the valve does not close, check that the disconnect device is firmly seated, otherwise replace it.

Withdrawal

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Disconnect the electrical wire. Disconnect device (magnetic valve) wash outside with cold solvent.

Attention! Do not allow the piston and spring to fall out.

Installation

Install the disconnect device with a new O-ring. Make sure the spring and piston fit correctly.

Disconnect device (magnetic valve) carefully screw into the high pressure fuel pump and tighten the fasteners with a torque of approx. 20 Nm.

Connect the connecting wire to the disconnect device (magnetic valve).

Connect ground wire (-) to the battery. Set the clock and set the anti-theft code for the radio.
