Removal and installation of the dashboard

In Fort Mondeo, all instruments are combined on the control panel. After removing the dashboard, you can dismantle the instruments or lamps.

Withdrawal



Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.


Pry out the clock or trip computer with a small screwdriver. Use paper spacer to avoid damaging the panel. Remove the connector.



Depress the heated rear window switch, laying the paper pad - Remove the connector.


Depress the heated windshield switch by laying the paper pad. Remove the connector.

Press out the alarm display by laying the paper spacer. Remove the connector.

Remove the ventilation grill see 17.5.



Remove the tachoval and rubber tip. While doing this, squeeze the ring to release the shaft, see fig.



Remove the five screws and remove the dashboard bezel.



Remove the five screws securing the instrument panel.




Pull the instrument panel slightly forward and disconnect the two multi-pin connectors. If necessary, dismantle the steering wheel for this, see point 13.1.

Installation



Put on the multi-pin connector and install the instrument panel.

Secure the dashboard with five screws.

Screw on the dashboard bezel.

Install the steering wheel, if it has been removed, see point 13.1.

Fix the tahwol in the dashboard. Check the security of its installation by slightly pulling. Install the rubber tip.

Install the ventilation grille see 17.5.

Put on the connector and install the alarm display.

Insert the heated windshield and rear window switches after inserting the connectors.

Install the clock or on-board computer after putting on the connector.

Connect the wire "masses" (-).

Set the clock to the current time.

Enter the anti-theft code into the radio's memory.
