To remove the intermediate shaft, perform the following operations:

- loosen the nut in the middle of the piston rod five turns (see fig. 118);
- loosen the wheel nuts and wheel hubs, place the front of the car on supports;
- remove the wheel;
- unscrew the fastening elements of the lining from the inside of the wheel arch (four attachment points);

- Disconnect the independent suspension wishbone at the bottom from the wheel suspension (see fig. 175);

- unscrew the intermediate bearing (pic. 179) and remove the intermediate shaft.
Install in reverse order, taking into account the following:
- always replace nuts and retaining rings of the shaft with new ones;
- when installing the intermediate shaft, do not damage the stuffing box ring in the gearbox housing;
- tighten the intermediate bearing nuts to 27 Nm.
