Checking the sealing cuffs of the drive shafts

To check the shafts, you need to do the following:

- lift the front of the car and place it on supports;

- turn the wheel and check both rubber shaft seals for cracks;

- check the strength of the installation of the tape holders;

- check for grease on the sealing cuff.

Diagnosis of wheel drive shaft faults

Noises occurring in the transmission indicate the following faults:

- rhythmic beating when pressing the clutch pedal (may change when turning the steering wheel) indicates a malfunction on the part of the corresponding wheel;

- if the steering wheel vibrates when the wheels are turned, then the outer joint is probably damaged;

- a crackling sound when accelerating on turns indicates a fault in the wheel drive shaft.
