To replace thrust bearings, the following operations must be performed:
- place the entire unit under a press and press the shaft out of the bearing. It will come down together with the dust cover;
- clean the shaft, press the new bearing onto the shaft using a piece of pipe of a suitable diameter. The pipe can only be put on the inner rotating ring of the bearing. The other end of the shaft should rest on the press table. Press the bearing only until it stops;
- Press the protective ring onto the intermediate shaft in the same way. Do not damage the ring.
