3.1.1. Selecting oil

The engine lubrication system is designed to:

- for lubrication of engine units and assemblies. Creation of an oil film between rubbing surfaces (pistons and cylinders, main bearings, valve drive and other parts) ensures their minimal wear;

- eliminating gaps between the piston, piston rings and cylinder bore;

- cooling of parts such as pistons, crankshaft bearings.

The lubrication system uses a rotary oil pump driven by the crankshaft. The pump is mounted directly to the front of the crankcase.
