Checking the brake system

            0

The work is best carried out on a smooth asphalt road, choosing a time when there are few cars on the road. Do some braking. If the vehicle pulls to the right, the left front or rear brake is weak. Long braking distances during short-term full braking at a speed of about 40 km/h also indicate an uneven distribution of the braking force. Release the steering wheel slightly for the next check (but keep your hands ready) Check for steering wheel wobble when braking. Check the parking brake while the vehicle is coasting. When the parking brake is applied, braking distances of the same length must be created. The most accurate, and also the cheapest, is a brake test performed on a workshop test bench.

Warning: Due to the impact on the brake discs and brake linings of the salt used to cover the roads, predominantly in urban vehicles, the performance of the brakes deteriorates significantly over time. In this case, we recommend that you brake the car several times abruptly from a speed of about 80 km/h.
