Checking the brake system for leaks and damage (Mondeo 2)

            0

Check the brake system for leaks and damage as follows:

- inspect the brake pipes under the car: they should not have any signs of corrosion, strong bends or deformations, black wet dirt at the joints indicates the presence of leaky areas, the brake hoses should not be brittle or worn out;

- wet dark dirt on the brake calipers, ventilation valves and at the brake hose connections indicates a leak;

- check all protective covers for ventilation valves;

- Lastly, check the brake pressure: press the brake pedal with great force (about 300 Nm), the force should not weaken for several minutes, otherwise the system is leaking somewhere or the master brake cylinder is faulty.
