First run after repair

            0

1. After installing the engine on the vehicle, recheck the oil and coolant levels. Once again, check whether all the necessary parts and assemblies are installed and securely fastened, and also make sure that that there were no tools or rags left in the engine compartment.

2. Remove the spark plugs, turn off the ignition system by disconnecting the ignition coil connector. Remove the #14 fuse to disable the fuel pump. Crank the engine over with the starter until the oil pressure indicator goes off.

3. Then install the spark plugs and connect all the spark plug wires. Connect the ignition coil wiring and insert the fuel pump fuse. Turn the ignition on and listen for the fuel pump to work. It will run a little longer than usual due to the pressure drop in the system.

4. Start the engine, taking into account that it may take a little longer than usual due to the filling of the fuel system components with fuel.

5. With the engine idling, check for fuel, oil, and water leaks. Don't worry about light smoke and odor from hot parts that have traces of oil on them. If you removed the valve lifters, it is possible that noise from the valve mechanism will be heard for some time. When the oil circulation in the lubrication system is restored and the pressure in the hydraulic compensators becomes normal, this noise will disappear.

6. Wait for the engine to warm up at idle. so that you can feel the hot water begin to circulate through the top hose. The engine should run smoothly at normal speed. Then mute it.

7. After a few minutes, check the oil and coolant levels again (see chapter 1) and add working fluids to the required level.

8. Bolts of the head of the block after the first start-up do not need to be tightened.

9. When installing new pistons, rings or crankshaft bearings, the engine must be run in the same way as a new one for the first 800 km. Do not allow the engine to run at full throttle, as well as at low speeds (with gear engaged). At the end of the run-in, it is recommended to replace the fuel and oil filters.
