System troubleshooting for ignition and fuel injection systems
Before you start troubleshooting using this table, the following conditions must be met: no operating error during starting. Fuel in the fuel tank, engine is mechanically OK (compression check), battery is charged, starter develops sufficient number of revolutions, no dirt in the fuel system, electrical contact with ground (engine - gearbox - body).
Caution! Always proceed from top to bottom in the order shown when troubleshooting a system. A Ford workshop may interrogate the control unit's fault memory using a tester for more in-depth diagnostics.
