Removal
Raise the vehicle and release the parking brake.

Disconnect the rear parking brake cables "1" from the balance arm "2".
Remove the center console, see paragraph 17.36.

Unscrew the fastening of the "arrow" of the parking brake lever "3", lift it and put it aside.
Remove the front parking brake cable fitting from the opening in the body floor.
Remove the balance arm through the floor hole.
Installation
Pull the parking brake lever up and release the automatic adjustment mechanism from the working position, see figure.

Note: The new brake lever is supplied with a pre-adjusted self-adjusting mechanism.

Press the balance lever with your feet.

Press the tooth down and at the same time pull up the parking brake lever until the cable is extended by approximately 40 mm.
Caution: Do not apply excessive force to the lever.

Press the tooth firmly and release the parking brake lever at the same time.
Caution! The self-adjusting mechanism holds the brake cable in a fixed position until force is applied to the cable.
Slide the counterbalance lever into the floor hole. Install the rubber nozzle.
Secure the parking brake lever to the floor of the vehicle.
Attach the rear cables to the balance arm and secure.
Pull the parking brake lever, thereby activating the self-setting mechanism.
Install the middle console.
Lower the car.
