Rear door glass replacement (Mondeo 4)

You will need: 7 mm keys, TORX T20, flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Raise the glass all the way up.

2. Remove the rear door trim (see Removing and installing rear door trim).

2. Remove the rear door trim (see Removing and installing rear door trim).


3. Press the release button to disconnect the wiring harness connector from the speaker connector of the acoustic system.

4. Remove the three bolts securing the speaker to the inner door panel…

5….and take it off.

6. By pressing the lock…

7….disconnect the wiring harness connector from the power window and central lock control module connector.

8. Remove the three bolts securing the electric window and central lock control module…

9….and remove the module.

10. Peel off the moisture-proof film from the inner door panel and remove it.

11. Remove the window frame trim by overcoming the elastic resistance of its spring holders, starting from its lower rear part…

12….and, consistently pressing the trim, moving towards the front part of the door, remove it.

13. Remove the inner window sill trim, overcoming the elastic resistance of its spring holders.

14. Remove the outer window sill trim, overcoming the elastic resistance of its spring holders.

15. Remove the glass seal first from the rear of the door frame…

16….and further to the top of the frame.

17. Remove the screw securing the rear decorative trim of the door frame…

18….remove the piston that holds it in place…

19….and, lifting the cover, remove it.

20. Remove the glass seal from the front of the door frame.

21. Remove the three screws securing the front decorative trim of the door frame…

22….and, lifting the cover, remove it.

23. Remove the screw from the hole in the power window slider.

24. Press the slider retainer by inserting a screwdriver blade between the glass and the retainer.

24. Press the slider retainer by inserting a screwdriver blade between the glass and the retainer.


25. Remove the glass from the door by pulling it upwards and turning it in the door opening as shown in the photo.

26. Install the rear door glass and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
