Replacing the rear door lock

You will need: TORX T20 and T30 wrenches, flat blade screwdriver.

1. Remove the back door upholstery (see Removing and installing tailgate trim).

2. Remove the inner rear door lock handle (refer to Rear Door Lock Internal Handle Replacement).

NOTE: It is necessary to remove the inner handle because it is difficult to disconnect the drive cable from the lock installed on the door. It is more convenient to remove the lock together with the cable, and to disconnect the cable from the handle, you need to remove it.


3. Remove the rear window lifter (see Replacing the rear window lifter).

4. Remove the outer rear door handle (see Tailgate Exterior Handle Replacement).



5. While pressing the latch, disconnect the block of the wiring harness for the electric lock of the rear door lock.



6. Remove the outer handle front seal..




7.... and unscrew the screw that secures the lock to the outer panel of the door.



8. Remove the three screws securing the lock to the rear end of the door..



9... screw fastening to the inner panel of the door..



10.... and remove the lock by pulling it out through the technological hole in the door panel.




11. To remove the base of the outer handle, press the fixing collar on the lock connector with a screwdriver..



12….and remove the handle base from the connector.



13. Use a screwdriver to spread the two clamps of the cable sheath stop.



14. Remove the cable sheath stop from the holder.




15. Turn the lever of the outer handle until its groove matches the cable, remove the tip of the cable from the hole in the lever..



16….and remove the base of the outer handle.



17. To remove the cable, use a screwdriver to open the two retainers of the cable sheath of the outer handle..




18….and remove the sheath stop from the holder.



19. Turn the tip of the cable so that its rectangular protrusion coincides with the groove of the lever..



20.... and remove the rear door outer handle cable.



21. To remove the connector, wring out two of its latches with a screwdriver..



22….and remove the connector from the lock.

23. Establish the lock of a back door and all removed details in an order, the return to removal.
